Capinordic Bank has handed in its banking licence

Capinordic Bank A/S announced suspension of payments to the Danish FSA on 10 February. The bank also handed in its licence to operate as a bank.

On 4 February 2010, Capinordic A/S issued a guarantee to depositors in the Swedish branch of Capinordic Bank A/S to the effect that Capinordic A/S will indemnify the depositors for any losses from the bank’s bankruptcy which are not covered by the Danish or the Swedish guarantee fund for depositors and investors. The Danish guarantee fund for depositors and investors covers deposits of up to EUR 50,000, after deduction of the depositor’s liabilities to the bank. However, certain deposits are covered irrespective of the amount. The total guarantee commitment of Capinordic A/S has been set at a maximum of DKK 75 million.

In the event that Capinordic Bank A/S goes bankrupt, customers in the Swedish branch who cannot obtain cover from the Danish or the Swedish guarantee fund for depositors and investors should contact Capinordic A/S, Standvejen 58, 2900 Hellerup, Denmark (tel. +45 8816 3000) to have their losses covered.

Customers in the Danish part of Capinordic Bank A/S are covered by the Danish state guarantee scheme under the Danish Financial Stability Act.
