Decision regarding solvency requirement for Amagerbanken

Today (29. October 2009), the Company Appeals Board upheld the decision by the Danish FSA of 5 October 2009 regarding a solvency requirement of 13.6 per cent for Amagerbanken.

This means that Amagerbanken has until 3 November 2009 to meet the solvency requirement. The Danish FSA will take a position on extending this time limit, if the bank so requests.

After bringing the case before the Company Appeals Board, Amagerbanken made further write-downs of about DKK 600 mill. (EUR 80 mill.) with effect from 30 June 2009 in its interim financial statements for the first three quarters of 2009.

As there is full solvency cover for these write-downs, technically the solvency requirement will be reduced to 11.3 per cent. The actual solvency as at 30 June will be reduced correspondingly. This is a technical adjustment.
